hi, i’m gianna!

I’ve always had an eye for design. Growing up, I loved watching house-flipping shows on HGTV and using them as inspiration for my yearly room redesigns. At the same time, I was always a writer. Creating stories felt like the most natural thing in the world, which led me to a creative writing program in high school and eventually to studying journalism at Syracuse University.
Journalism taught me a lot, but I found myself wanting something more open, creative, and collaborative. After taking one graphic design elective, everything clicked. With the support of my design professors and the community I found in my classmates, I discovered a new path. Even without a traditional art background, I learned by studying their work, trusting my intuition, and following my curiosity.
Now, I can’t imagine a life without design. Spending hours in Figma feels less like work and more like a natural extension of how I think. Web design, product design, user research — it all started to fall into place, giving me a way to bring together storytelling, strategy, and visual thinking.
I believe great design should feel friendly, intuitive, and easy for anyone to use. I’m excited to bring that perspective to design roles in the New York City or Philadelphia metropolitan areas, and to help create experiences that make people feel understood and inspired.

Beyond Billable Hours, Presented May 2026
Researched how AI is disrupting agency billing models, uncovering the "Efficiency Penalty”: the income gap created when AI makes hourly workers more efficient, while rates stay flat. We suggested agencies move away from hourly billing toward value-based pricing models.
